Yes, using cloth diapers will definitely save you LOADS of money. And, even though it seems like you are always getting less for more, we decided to make our cloth diapers do more for less. So stop throwing away your money! Feel free to have a look at our elementary math calculations below and judge for yourself:

It’s estimated that children will go through about 6,000 diapers in the first 2 years of life (1) and a total of around 6,500 (2) diapers by the time they are toilet trained.

That means that you will roughly be changing diapers every 2 hrs 55 min and 32 sec. for the first 2 years. (8,766 hours in a year x 2 years = 17,532 hours.

17,532 hours / 6,000 diaper changes = 2.92. We used a calculator for this one.)

The average disposable diaper costs about 25.5 cents (3).
6,500 changes at 25.5 cents each = $1,657.50 per child.

BabyKicks Basic Pocket diapers, for example, cost $15.99 each.
You will need about 24 altogether. $15.99 x 24 = $383.76.
Add in around $400 for detergent, water, and electricity (that’s total, not per year) (4)

It looks like our cloth diapers come in under $800 for your child, and that remarkable number does not even include using them on subsequent children. Think about it: the younger siblings always get the hand-me-downs (poor suckers, a fact that will surely mark them for life).  If it works with toys and clothes why not with cloth diapers?
